Do you feel scared to start a blog, even though you know God has called you to do it?
That was me! I can talk to you about fear! Goodness, gracious!
Has the Lord been tugging at your heart lately and prompting you to start your Christian blog but you aren’t sure what to do or how to do it? I’ve been there.
I know what it’s like to be paralyzed in fear, with all of the thoughts racing through my head. I was absolutely scared to start a blog!
Then there is the self-doubt that stops you.
Am I good enough? I don’t know anything much about blogging.
Am I technical enough to run a blog?
Is my writing good enough?
Who is going to listen to me? What can I possibly teach anyone out there?
Blogging for Jesus is kind of scary
Well… it’s not kind of scary. It is outright TERRIFYING!
Let me encourage you and help you push that fear to the side.
It’s time to stop being scared to start a blog.
You can do this!
I’m here to tell you that you are enough because of The One who lives inside of you.
He created and equipped you to do what He called you to do. That doesn’t mean you won’t have to learn new skills, but He has prepared you!
Ephesians 2:10 NIV
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
I’m here to tell you that if you lean into His direction, He will surely direct your path, one step at a time.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
We were all given certain gives and we should use them to the glory of God. I’m also here to tell you that even though there are many out there blogging online, nobody has your distinct voice, with your distinct knowledge, and can tell a story just like you.
Romans 12:6-8
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
It took me 3 years to figure this out and gain the courage to push that button to buy hosting.
Yes, it did. It was 3 long years being uncomfortable because I wasn’t walking on the path the Lord was compelling me to. I guess I’m a slow learner.
Don’t be like me. Haha!
Push that fear aside! Throw caution to the wind! Stop being scared to start a blog and just begin!
I mean now. Just start somewhere!
Fear is simply faith that Satan will win because you allow it to stop you from fulfilling the plan that God has destined for you.
A Prayer For Clarity and Direction
Dear Lord,
I am praying for direction and clarity in my life. Help me to see what your will is. As you give me the wisdom to discern my next steps, help me to walk boldly onto the path of your will for my life.
Show me how I am equipped to follow your direction so that I will have the confidence to fulfill the plan for my life. As I lean on you and center myself in your grace, Lord, help me to recall times in my life where you carried me. Lord, show me your faithfulness so that I don’t waver as I gain clarity.
Thank you for the gifts you have given me. I am excited to use them for your glory and point people to you. Help me to seek you fervently and trust your direction as I take my first steps.
